Ascent Program — Grades 7–12

Your Child Will Grow Up With AI. Teach Them To Think Before They Depend On It.

Ascent isn't about making children "AI experts." It's about teaching them to understand AI, question it, use it responsibly, and create with it — without replacing their own thinking.

What's Covered

A Thoughtful, Age-Appropriate Curriculum

Session 1: AI Foundations and AI in Everyday Life

What AI is, what it isn't, and where it already shows up in daily life — explained in plain language, no jargon.

Session 2: Prompting and Clear Instructions

How to ask AI for what you actually want, and why vague instructions produce vague answers.

Session 3: Using AI to Study Smarter

Turning AI into a study partner that strengthens understanding — never a shortcut around it.

Session 4: Trust, Limitations and Responsible Use

Recognizing bias and incorrect answers, and knowing exactly when not to trust an output.

Session 5: AI, Creativity and Future Careers

Using AI as a creative collaborator, and seeing how it's reshaping the jobs your child will grow into.

Session 6: Capstone — Build and Defend

A final project your child builds independently and presents live, explaining their own choices.

One Program, Two Maturity Levels

Grades 7–8 vs. Grades 9–12

Same six-session structure and the same Podium Method — the activities, pacing, and depth of the capstone adjust to the age group.

Grades 7–8

Guided, Playful, Foundational

  • Shorter, game-like activities with closer instructor guidance
  • Focus on building intuition: what AI is, what it isn't
  • Capstone is a simple, well-scoped single-idea project
  • Responsible-use lessons framed around everyday examples
Grades 9–12

Independent, Career-Aware, Rigorous

  • More independent exploration, less step-by-step hand-holding
  • Direct connections drawn to careers, higher education, and real tools
  • Capstone allows more ambition and personal direction
  • Responsible-use lessons address real account ownership and data exposure

Frequently Asked

Questions About Ascent

MyPodium offers different learning tracks for school learners, college students, graduates and early-career professionals. Eligibility and recommended age or academic stage are specified for each program.

Yes—but responsibly. Students learn how AI can support research, understanding, brainstorming, revision and creation without outsourcing their thinking or submitting unverified AI-generated work as their own.

Yes, where appropriate. But they learn more than “prompt tricks.” They learn how to provide context, define objectives, specify constraints, improve outputs, verify results and decide when AI should—or should not—be used.

Practical programs can include assignments, challenges and capstone-style projects so learners have an opportunity to turn their learning into something tangible.

No responsible training provider should guarantee employment simply because someone completes an AI program. MyPodium's objective is to strengthen AI fluency, workplace readiness and demonstrable practical capability—skills that can make learners better prepared for an AI-enabled employment market.

Where specified for the program, participants who meet the relevant completion requirements receive a MyPodium certificate of completion. The primary value, however, is the capability developed and work produced—not the certificate alone.

MyPodium is designed around practical application. Learners don't simply hear about AI—they use it, test it, question it and apply it to realistic tasks, exercises, workflows or projects.
